1. Wherever the place of marriage is, it is legally valid for the marriage to be registered by the local Kazi. Otherwise you might have to face harassment.
2. You have to write the name and address of the place where the marriage took place in column 1 of your relative’s wedding cabin.
3. You need to know the name, address and office identity of the Kazi Saheb who has registered the marriage / divorce of your relative.
4. If the kazi is not from the designated area, you might get harassed to get the marriage certificate for emergency/legal need or even not find it.
5. It is also necessary to get marriage certificate when going abroad as husband and wife and it is verified by the embassy.
6. Photocopy of Passport / NID / SSC / JSC Certificate / Birth Certificate is mandatory for your relative’s marriage registration.
7. Check if the kazi has registered the marriage of your relative according to the age proof paper
8. Marriage registration is an important document of marital life, it may require during travel in the country / abroad at important times of their lives.
9. If marriage of a groom age under 21 or a bride age under 18 is registered it will be charged with child marriage.
10. Therefore, we urge the people of Uttara / Bangladesh not to register the marriage by the Kazi of other area and by registering the marriage by the Kazi Saheb of the designated area, confirm your affidavit.
11. Marriage registration fee is Rs. 1250 / – per lakh, if it is more than four lakh, only Rs. 100 / – per lakh is payable. B: Note: In the interest of the people of the country.

Everyone needs to know

Marriage is a sacred bond, for the Muslim Ummah. Marriage registration is an evidenced by respect for customary law and marital documents of husband and wife. Therefore, it is compulsory to register the marriage in the book of the local muslim marriage and divorce registrar of the area or ward where the marriage will take place, such as home, hotel-restaurant and community center. But not in the book (volume) of the kazi of other ward or area. For example, it is compulsory for the land of the area to be registered by the sub-registrar of that area. The same rule applies to the Muslim marriage registrar.

You may have an acquaintance and a trusted kazi or kazi representative, so it is not legal to register a marriage in another kazi area with him. See published gazette / 2011. There is nothing wrong with inviting your loved one to a wedding or during kobul ceremony.
Marriage registration fee is 1250 / – per 1 lakh (one thousand two hundred and fifty rupees) and only 100 / – (one hundred rupees) per lakh above four lakhs is payable. Published Gazette / 2011 Eng. Passport / Birth Certificate / N, I, D / School Certificate of the bride and groom is mandatory for proof of age, and age of the bride 18 and groom 21, according to the prevailing law of the Government of Bangladesh. It is better to have 2 passport size photos of the bride and groom.
In each ward of every city corporation / municipality of Bangladesh, there is one marriage registrar appointed by the Ministry of Law, for the existing marriage and divorce registry in their respective wards. The same is true of unions. In many cases, it is seen that the qazi of one area registers marriage in another qazi area by lying for the greed of little money, which is against the law / fraud. This is evident in column 1 of Nikah Nama.

According to the Gazette of the Government of Bangladesh, the age of Muslim groom is above 21 (twenty one) years
And the bride’s age is 18 (over eighteen years).
2. For proof of person and age – National Identity Card / Passport / Birth Certificate / JSC,
Photocopy of SSC equivalent education certificate.
3. Two color passport size photos of the bride and groom.
4. At least 3 Muslim male witnesses above 18 years of age.
5. If someone remarries then the previous marriage (husband / wife) is divorced or
(Husband / wife) must give certificate of death.
